Casper and the Cookies really knocked that one out of the park. The last two times I’ve seen them, their set has pretty much just been a clone of their last album. Not so this time around. We got three fantastic new songs and covers of XTC’s “Are You Receiving Me?” and Daniel Johnston’s “Casper the Friendly Ghost.” Fitting, huh? Casper and the Cookies were Johnston’s backing band at Popfest, so that enabled them to open it up to the audience as to which song of his they should cover.
