I haven’t posted on Against Me!’s new album because it’s major label and tossing up MP3s is a no-no. But don’t let that imply that I don’t like it. I do. From the looks of it, though, Ben Lee likes it a bit more than I do, as he’s just released his cover of the entire New Wave record. Download it at his blog.

Sure, most of Ben’s covers don’t get too wild or take too many risks, but it isn’t expected to. Ben Lee is my hero for the week for having the guts to record an entire cover of a new album, and for making it a great companion to the original. I mean, just listen to “New Wave.” It sounds nothing like the original (check “Stop!” for an even better example), but it’s still fantastic.
