Tonight is Girl Talk at Forecastle. Hopefully it’ll stay dry today. Here’s 52 minutes of Girl Talk to get pumped. Gregg’s actually far more tame in this one that he was at Pitchfork. Nothing but dancing, jumping and crowd surfing there.

Sunset Rubdown: “The Mending of the Gown”
July 27th, 2007 · Comments Off
Sunset Rubdown’s Random Spirit Lover has just proved that we were all wise to save a slot on our year-end list for it. Spencer’s genius (though never in question) is reaffirmed in twelve tracks, this first being my immediate favorite.

I’m reposting some of my favorite covers while I’m gone, but will have updates (and photos?) from the fest as soon as I’m able! For now, here’s this tune popularized […]

Don’t let them scare you… they’re actually cute live
I saw the Blow back at CMJ last year and was blown-n away. Har har. Seriously though, Khaela is absolutely adorable and must be experienced live to fully get what they’re about. It’s like watching Ellen Degeneres do some indie karaoke.

Jens Lekman: “Friday Night…”

I’m supremely excited for the new Jens Lekman album, Night Falls Over Kortedala. He absolutely wowed me at Pitchfork last year with “A Postcard to Nina,” and now he’s doing it again with “Friday Night at the Drive-In Bingo.”
