I imagine that there were a lot of murmurs or laughs shared when Battles’ cymbals were set up. Its height is a cute novelty, but at least they can back it up.

I only caught the first few songs of Battles (and “Atlas” while walking around), but found them to be every bit as engaging of a live act as I’d been told. Both guitarists played the synth/keyboard with one hand while hammering their six-string with the other, a feat that always makes for an enthused performance.
