Even though Sonic Youth were more rocking than I’d expected, GZA was the hands-down winner of Friday’s Don’t Look Back ensemble. He didn’t exactly play Liquid Swords in order… or all the way through, but no one seemed to mind his inclusion of other material.

About two songs in, GZA told the crowd that he was missing a Wu-Tang show in Amsterdam to be in Chicago, so we had to make him work for his money. He and Ghostface Cappadonna really tore it up, and did a bit of Wu-Tang material as well.
