Apparently The Bicycles’ fantastic, wonderful album The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly is getting a wider release. I kid you not when I say that this is one of my favorite albums of the past two years. It’s intelligent twee pop that just grabs you and refuses to let go… but in a cute way.

The whole of TGTBTC feels like if you, a parent, woke up early one morning to find your kids of all ages in the basement writing some of the catchiest songs you’ve ever heard. That is, you know, if you’d let them listen to nothing but 60′s pop and they wrote some fascinating lyrics to go with their crazy riffs (check the keyboard solo at 1:39). It’s got that raw simplicity of a Kinks tune or a wacked-out Zombies unreleased song.
