I tell you, if you stop paying attention for just one day, you miss some amazing stuff. Case in point, I didn’t know that Islands had tossed up a new song on their Myspace. Luckily Snakes Got a Blog has my back and the MP3.

At this point, the thing Nick could most easily do to confuse me is by doing something I expect. I think he delights in throwing his fans for a loop by making musical leaps between albums. The countrified electric guitar sounds like something that would be played at one of my family reunions; while his carefree narration is undeniably in line with his trademark style. It’s quirky and strange, but I can’t help but call it wonderful.
Some other things I’ve neglected to mention here:
I was the guest today for WOXY’s Song of the Week. I won’t tell you what song I picked, but it’s by a band that you’ve seen a lot of this week on YANP.
Bishop Allen’s Daytrotter session went online this past week. I can’t believe I forgot to mention that. It’s great, like everything that Bishop Allen and Daytrotter have ever done.
