Last night’s !!! show was a fist-pumping, sweaty dance-fest that made the three plus hour I spent in a car worth it.
The crowd — which was younger than I would have expected — absoulutely adored Nic Offer, !!! lead singer and the show’s ringleader. After he announced that the band was finally able to say they loved us, one girl shouted out “If you love us, then take off your pants!” Nic laughed and said “Sorry to be the one to have to tell you this, honey; but just because someone takes off their pants doesn’t mean they love you.”
Priceless.
The night flowed nicely (ok, raged intently) with transitions between Nic making love to the crowd and guest MC Shannon spreading love through the mic. They closed with the one-two punch of “Heart of Hearts” and “Intensified” and left the stage to a crowd that wouldn’t stop shouting for more. Not after the house music came on. Not after the lights were raised. Not even after various band members went to start packing up their equipment.
It’s a sad thing to see a !!! show end, but I was drained and ready to sleep. Good thing they’ll be in Louisville this Friday!
