The cats over at premiered this today. I’d really been hoping for some advance glimmers of the new Okkervil River album, and it looks like today’s the day!

I knew when I heard this at SXSW that it would wind up being a fantastic song. Lyrically, it’s refreshingly down-to-earth: “It’s just a life story / so there’s no climax.” It’s a melody-driven work that gets several punches out of the alternatingly sparse and dense instrumentation.
