If you couldn’t guess by my post the other day, I wasn’t a big fan of the first leaked track from Spoon’s newest album. However, the rest of the album is true to Spoon form. It’s no Kill the Moonlight (whose poster is on the wall to my left), but few things are these days.

I remember first hearing a recorded version of this from SXSW 2006, then seeing it played at Pitchfork last year. It’s changed little (none) since then, and for good reason: it’s absolutely spot-on. The song has been fleshed-out with piano and drums enough to let Britt’s guitar go wild. In fact, at around the 2:20 mark, just about everybody gets to go a little wild. It’s fantastic.
