Lesbians on Ecstasy: “Mortified”
April 9th, 2007 by Matt
First of all, I had a quite little discussion of political ideology affecting dating schemas and would like to take this opportunity to point out that there are few band names more liberal than Lesbians on Ecstasy. Next, I’d like to say that their new album We Know You Know is pretty sweet. I haven’t had time to soak the whole thing in because this last track keeps begging me to go back and re-listen to it. Just a note to any established bands out there looking to regain some “indie cred:” cover this song. It’s great.
MP3: Lesbians on Ecstasy – Mortified
There’s an ocean of space between Peaches and The Blow, and Lesbians on Ecstasy are perfectly happy swimming in it most of the time. Every track on We Know You Know is a wild, electro-fest. Every song except this one. “Mortified” is a simple guitar/vocal piece that, upon reaching the chorus, will make you think of that old Reel 2 Real song (you know.. the one from Jock Jams). It’s a real big departure, but one that pays off by being my favorite song from the album.
