Friday in the Mohawk, the Prototypes song “Danse Sur La Merde” came over the speakers between sets. I started bobbing my head and getting into it before I realied that they were playing tomorrow! By the time they took the stage, I was fairly primed for their performance.

I can’t say that Prototypes did a bad job — they were energetic and fun to watch. But, I do have to say that I was a little let down. They used a bit too many samples and pre-recorded bits. During “Danse Sur La Merde,” the powerful synth opening line was played out of the speakers while all three band members stood around looking a bit sheepish.

Still, they did a pretty good job for being in the middle of a whirlwind tour of North America. Maybe add a fourth member for the next go around, eh, gang?
