I think the Austin heat had just started to get to my poor Kentucky brain around the time that Apostle of Hustel took the stage on Friday. The DJ’s between bands set died down and quickly gave way to Apostle of Hustle’s beginning performance of “My Sword Hand’s Anger.” I, being the unfocused person that I am, thought “man, this is one good DJ! I love this song!” Then I realized the band had started to play. Oops.

Despite lead singer Andrew Whiteman rocking the Unabomber-chic, Apostle of Hustle still put on a really good set. I think all the bloggers that helped put together Hot Freaks are fans of the new record, and it was really great to hear it in a live setting.
