An event like SXSW brings together people from all over the world. I met up with some Canadian and midwestern friends; also, my cabbie on Friday said that he had driven some people from Europe the day before. So I thought it especially nice that Hot Freaks was able to uniquely american, like Catfish Haven.

These Chicago fellas treated the crowd to their southern stylings amid the increasingly oppressive Austin sun. They were troopers and made me forget for a half hour that I hadn’t eaten since my late lunch the day before. After their set I went and found a nice pastry store a couple blocks from the venue. Just like Catfish Haven, the pizza garnered much praise from me.
