I figured that while at SXSW, I could pre-prepare some posts on a few of my favorite covers to go up while I’m running around Austin. Here’s one such cover.

There are only about a half dozen Mountain Goats songs that I like more than this cover. They made me fall in love with the band, but this made me fall in love with John. Sure, he sings most of the lyrics to the #1 hit; but the main point is his vehement support of the tune and half-joking, vitriolic tirade against the audience members who are too embarrassed to sing along with him.
