Yesterday I bought Guitar Hero. Ever since, I’ve been unable to listen to rock music without picturing how it would lay out on the GH fretboard. With “Walcott,” the opening piano riff is something that you can tell was nearly as much fun for Vampire Weekend to compose as it is for you to listen to. You know it’s good pop music when that spirit is able to transverse the gap between recording studio and listener.
