I realized the other day that if I were to sit down and compile a list of my top 20 bands, probably 19 of them would be releasing an album this year. Speaking of which, Page France are releasing an album this year. …and the Family Telephone comes hot on the heels of 2006’s trio of EPs, which, in turn, came soon after the prior year’s Hello, Dear Wind. Here’s a track off the new album, due out May 8th.

If you’ll allow a quite stereotyped description of Michael Nau’s works: they’re all fairly gentle, beautiful and usually cutely poetic. So it came as no surprise that “Hat and Rabbit” is everything we’ve come to love about Page France up to this point. But additionally, it reflects the growth and change of the past three EPs — the lessons of last year.
