I’m already more excited for Sea Wolf’s debut album after having heard just three songs (two can be found below) than I am for most of my favorite band’s 07 releases. They’re my new favorite thing; this shouldn’t be very surprising, considering it’s the new band of Alex Church from Irving.

But now they’ve got some actual news! The band has signed to Dangerbird Records and will be releasing an EP in the Spring, and a full-length in September. Church’s Myspace letter:
Hello All,
Firstly, Happy New Year to you all! 2006 was a momentous year in the life of Sea Wolf, and we have lots to be thankful for. We hope it was as rewarding for you all as well.
Our most exciting news for the new year is that Sea Wolf has officially signed to Dangerbird Records, home of our very good friends and rehearsal-studio-mates, Silversun Pickups. Plans for an EP to be released this Spring are in the works, as well as and an LP for September.
I’m Currently on my way to Seattle. where producer/mixer Phil Ek and I will finish up the 3 songs S.W. recorded with Tom Biller in L.A. last Summer. After that, S.W. will be prepping for the upcoming CA shows in late February/Early March, and Austin’s South By SouthWest festival in mid-March.
