A kind reader sent in this (radio rip?) copy of Kaiser Chief's new single, "Ruby." It's the first preview of the new album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob.

Based on this one song alone, it seems that they've lost a bit of the jangly pop punch that allowed me to so easily fall in love with Employment, and are moving towards some of their contemporaries. However, I'm not sure that's completely a bad thing. "Ruby"'s verses feel like the Smiths, all the way; but the choruses seem more fitted to the Futureheads or Hot Fuss-era Killers -- a vibe that's better than how it sounds, I promise. Consider Yours Truly... officially added to my most-anticipated albums of 2007 list.
