The other day while discussing a very nice Brooklyn singer-songwriter with another Brooklyn resident, he suggested that I check out Diane Cluck. I did and the rest is history. At least it would be history if they kept records of people who heard songs and appreciated them a good deal.

Imagine Joana Newsom covering a Dolly Parton song on an acoustic guitar. Picture Cat Power and Margo Guryan getting all Memphis while exploring some freak-folk-bare instrumentation. That's a good indication where Diane Cluck is headed with "Easy to Be Around." A couple dozen more people like her out there and the phrase "singer songwriter" might not invoke chills in tons of music fans.
