I hadn’t heard of Foreign Islands until earlier this week, but now I’m officially hooked. For fans of Gang of Four, the Electric 6 and maybe even Wire.

Remember how good and promising the Electric 6 were circa “High Voltage?” Take that promise which I’m sure you kicked out the window sometime between their last two albums and slap it directly onto the foreheads of the guys in Foreign Islands. They’ve got the fire that their elders seem to have lost, and combine it ever so perfectly with hooks that recall Gang of Four at their best (tell me you don’t hear “Damaged Goods” rattling around in there).
