Happy Thanksgiving, all! The other day I got some wonderful stuff to be thankful for at CD Central and I figured I’d highlight some of it today. The first is an EP by Magnolia Electric Co that had this sweet Warren Zevon cover.

Jason and Co stick pretty close to the original on this one, except for a few ipmortant features. First, you’ve got the obvious “Magnoliafication” of the instrumentation; there’s slide guitar and some subtle, yet very involved solos at work here. Then, when you try to sing along with it the Warren way, you realize Jason’s switched up some of the words and occasionally the words (first line). I don’t know how they did it, but all those little changes add up to a great cover.
