The Postmarks: “Every Day Is Halloween”

October 25th, 2006

Looks like everybody’s getting in on the Halloween fun this year! The C86-ish group the Postmarks have recorded a special cover of Ministry’s “Every Day is Halloween” that will be the ‘first in a series of free seasonable downloads from The Postmarks.’

MP3: The Postmarks - Every Day Is Halloween
I can’t lie to you: I’m not sure that I ever heard the original version of this. So I can’t say whether the banjo riff that sounds lot like We Are Scientists’ “Nobody Move Nobody Get Hurt” was The Postmarks’ addition, or if the Scientists pulled from Ministry. Either way, it’s a hauntingly silly tune that’s one of my favorite goulie-inspired works since Marbles’ “Dracula.”
