I’ve been anxiously awaiting the new Winks album ever since I first heard “Snakes” back about a year ago. Looks like my months of waiting are over!

The Winks have always prided themselves on being a non-traditional band. Maybe that’s why you’ll find that “Guitar Swing” is not only a celebration of the cello, but also a back-handed slap at ‘guitar swing’ songs. About halfway into the song, “Guitar Swing” morphs from a bit of Islands-slash-Arcade Fire-type cello pop/rock into some catchy ‘wa wa wa’s.
