MP3: The Minders – Same Time, Same Place

Frequently when I’m seeing one of my favorite bands live, I get quite apathetic towards the opening act(s). Not so last night. Granted, I was already a fan of the Minders, but they did such a spectacular job that I’m sure I would have enjoyed it even if their sound had been fresh to my ears.

As you could have guessed, the setlist was heavy with tunes from their new album, It’s A Bright Guilty World. But then again, why shouldn’t it be? It’s a fantastic record, and songs like “Don’t Your Stop” got a lot of heads bobbing. But curiously, the song that I found myself most enjoying was “Same Time, Same Place.” I’ve had it on repeat ever since I got home.

And in another prime example of E6 cross-breeding (I need to start a checklist), Bryan “The Late B.P. Helium” Poole joined the Minders on stage for a fuzzed-out jam worthy of more than a tip of the hat.
