Of Montreal don’t play shows so much as put on plays. If you’ve seen them, then you’re probably familiar with the production that goes into their live show. The latest leg featured banners, masks, numerous costume changes, guitarists in drag, covers of Top 40 songs, and samurai sword faux-masturbation.

It’s an experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world.

The setlist was basically the same as the last time I saw them: mostly Sunlandic, moderate bits of Satanic, “Old People in the Cemetary,” four new songs (”Suffer for Fashion,” “Cato,” “She’s a Rejector” and “You Will Never Have Me”), and that same wonderful Gnarls Barkley cover.
