Brad over at Both Sides of the Mouth finally managed to hip me to Archie Bronson Outfit yesterday. It’s the first band I’ve had a chance to check out since Pitchfork, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s refreshing and just what I needed.

If Viva Voce’s album Get Yr Blood Sucked Out had an infusion of 70s rock, it might wind up sounding like “Dart For My Sweetheart.” The main riff is groovy and easy to lose yourself in–not unlike the 70s themselves. But lest you think Archie Bronson Outfit a nostalgic band, I urge you to think whether or not this is a forward thinking song. If you really give the track a listen, I can’t imaginge anyone saying no.
