So my good buddy Brad (not my ex-roommate, my Texas friend) just started his blog, Both Sides of the Mouth, and it’s already looking like he’ll be surpassing me within the month. The dude’s got fast posts, and he even does drawings to frame the press photos. I suddenly feel old and worthless. Here’s the first of what I’m sure will be many bands I’ve stolen from him. After my last Futureheads post, I heard from a few friends that they were not, in fact, fans of the Futureheads. Well for whatever reason, I can only offer the Wombats to you as a substitute. They most likely belong to the church of Wire, as do the Futureheads, but where they branch off is with the infusion of the poppier XTC and just the tiniest, tiniest bit of the sing-songy nature of the Artic Monkeys (I know–don’t say it).
So I’ve been slacking off lately with my blog reading. If any of you have sites you want to pimp out, I’ll be updating my links within the week and would love to add some fresh blood (not literally). Leave ‘em in the comments. Be shameless!
