Thunderbirds Are Now!: (The Making Of) Make History

After posting their song “The Veil Comes Down” online, Thunderbirds Are Now! pulled a switcheroo and went back into the studio to polish up their new album, Make History. This is one of the resulting songs, and I couldn’t be happier.

I saw this song live when Thunderbirds played at the Southgate House almost exactly a year ago. Even though I wasn’t familiar enough with their discography to pick it out as a new song (thankfully they announced it), I was immediately taken with it. Its closing chants of “bap ba da ba” inspire goosebumps in a way that I never thought possible for nouveau-punk rawk tune ever could. It’s energetic, driving and frantic, but it’s also catchy.

In another move towards today being the best day I’ve had in a while, Rich posted a radio interview/performance by Kite Flying Society. Be sure to listen to the first interview where Dustin gives an embarrassingly great shout-out to me. I wish there were some way I could return the favor. Oh, wait! I can encourage you to preorder their AMAZING album! Just listen to this goodness.
