During the months that I regrettably lost touch with Locksley, they were busy fellows. They toured the US and the UK, are signing to a record label, and just recorded the theme song for a new MTV show. I honestly don’t know if the show has aired yet, because I’ve been without television for a month, but the song’s solid.

Locksley’s songs usually have protagonists that are both pitiful and admirable. “Why Not Me” is no different. Jesse’s lyrics paint the picture of a guy who’s simultaneously a hopeful optimist and kind of a downtrodden loser. Musically it’s not going to come as a huge surprise to anyone familiar with Locksley. They’re kind of like a British Invasion…from Wisconsin.
