Now It’s Overhead were the 11th band I ever posted on here at You Aint No Picasso. This almost feels silly, since at the time I knew very little about them. Actually, I still don’t know that much about them besides their music; but isn’t that enough?
MP3: Now Its Overhead - Let the Sirens Rest
Now It’s Overhead are starting to sound like I always kind of hoped the Wallflowers would. “Let the Sirens Rest” is a great song so long as you don’t do one thing; do not picture your parents listening to it. Don’t picture it playing in Starbucks. Don’t picture it as the sad background music in a major motion picture. Because it’ll most likely wind up in all those situations. It’s that kind of non-offensive pop music that has mass appeal. This might be the album that “breaks” Now It’s Overhead, so don’t be upset if you hear your dad sing along to it on the radio. Just be thankful it’s something good, and not the new Weezer single.
The Torture Garden has a Pipettes concert for download.
There’s a sweet song from the new Long Winters’ album over at Music For Robots
The Cincinnati Enquirer had a nice article on Desdemona. It mostly focuses on the the “will it be back next year?” aspect, though. But hey, that’s an important question.
