I hate remixes. Scratch that. I hated remixes. About the time that mashups were becoming popular, my resolve was weakening as to how terrible remixes were. Still, I’m no fan; but having one of your favorite bands’ work remixed in a fashion that flatters and elaborates upon the original does help a bit.
As you probably know, Of Montreal is releasing a limited edition vinyl album called Satanic Twins, which features remixes by Grizzly Bear, Mixel Pixel, and a bunch of other artists. As always, it’ll be released on YANP-fav, Polyvinyl Records.
NOTE: It goes without saying, but if you haven’t heard the originals, I strongly suggest them.

Any of you Lexington folk are advised to pick up the newest edition of W Weekly. Not only did my B.P. Helium article wind up in there, but my Bonnaroo article and a ton of Roo photos did too. PLUS, I took the image they used for the cover. It’s Thom Yorke bathed in blue, sneering at us. Good stuff. Don’t read that Bonnaroo article, though. I wrote it in like an hour and a half, and it’s not very good. Do look at the photos, though. They’re pretty and it’s the first time I’ve ever had photos published.
