Lately I feel like I’ve been a bad Radiohead fan. Instead of pouring over the new songs that have been making their way onto the internet, I feel that I’ve been regarding them with idle curiosity. Honestly, with Radiohead I’d rather wait to hear the studio versions. But my curiosity got the better of me, and I just had to check out “Down is the New Up.” It’s arguably one of their best in a while, and I’m hoping it gets played at Bonnaroo.
MP3: Radiohead – Down Is The New Up
Every time a new Radiohead song debuts, fans have to try and place it within their heros’ already existing canon. Why can’t the songs exist on their own, free of any throwbacks to previous works? “Down Is the New Up” is part of that new group of songs which seem to defy an easily-placible part of the already existing Radiohead library. I’m telling you, sink or swim, this next Radiohead album is going to be a wild one.

Maybe you’ll get a kick out of this thread on Atease like I did. “Some moron even smoked during the show. Hello. Fire hazard. Has he ever heard of the dangers of ’screaming fire in a crowded theatre’?”
