Acid House Kings: “Do What You Wanna Do”

June 10th, 2006 by Matt

All credit for this one goes to Other Matt from Skatterbrain. He and I had a conversation yesterday about how neither of us had listened to Acid House Kings because we thought they would sound “death metally.” But after Matt was openminded enough to give them a shot, he informed me that they’re actually some blissful pop music that I’d really enjoy. He was right.

MP3: Acid House Kings – Do What You Wanna Do
“Do What You Wanna Do” could very easily be the sister song to Camera Obscura’s “Let’s Get Out Of This Country.” Or it could be the teaser track from the new Math and Physics Club album, due out later this year. But it isn’t. What it happens to be is a selection from one of Sweden’s greatest gifts to the world (believe or not, we do owe them a sizable musical debt lately). Don’t let your summer go by without adding this song to at least one mix.

Acid House Kings also contributed a cover of “Keep Your Love” by Loveninjas for a limited-edition 7″ on Tragadiscos. If you’re so inclined, you can sample that track here.

Sure Juror are giving away their album, one song at a time, over at their blog. Honestly, can you ask anything more of a band?
