I’m so glad that Owen from Final Fantasy mentioned Grizzly Bear’s new album, Yellow House during our interview. That way I’ve been given enough time to mentally prepare myself for its arrival. As more tracks from it continue to leak, I think that I’m starting to near being ready. It’s not the album of the year like Owen suggested, but it might not be far off.

It was probably not a good idea for me to listen to “Lullabye” at 4am this morning–I was asleep in bed within ten minutes of having heard it. There’s something just so beautiful and calming about the first half of the song that you can’t help but feel relaxed. The harmonies of “restless night” are enough to make me curl up in a ball and go to sleep right now. In true Grizzly Bear fasion, the song warps into something new halfway through. It crescendos into a gentle explosion of cries of “cheer up! chin up!” before trailing off into the night.
