After an annoying day of calling to check on utilities for the house we’re about to rent, I was relieved to get to come home and listen to Central Services’ “Songs 89.” It’s not quite a soak in the tub, but it’s close.
MP3: Central Services - Song 89
I can’t quite put my finger on what “Song 89″ reminds me of; maybe The Lucksmiths slowly turning into Ben Folds doing a cover of a song from the 1950s? However you take it, it’s a relaxing and somewhat comforting. As the piano slowly creeps in the mix and the ’sha na na’s kick in, everything comes into place and you can breathe a sigh of relief.
I just bought some more records, but don’t really have any covers that could go along with them. Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, Paul Simon’s Greatest Hits, Etc, and ELO’s Discovery. Not bad, considering I got all of them for about $10, total.
