I just found out that I’ll be going to see Mates of State tomorrow in Cincinnati. Last time I saw them, I wasn’t overly impressed; but that was most likely because they followed up Bishop Allen. Not even Ghandi could follow up that act.

This could quite possibly be either the most un-Mates of State song they’ve ever written, or the first in a serious of songs that branches out of their mold. My good friend Emily gets upset when I accuse Mates of having a template to write their songs, but it’s songs like this that make me doubt the accuracy of my accusation.
