Let’s hear it for unexpected Myspace friending! The Snow Fairies friended me the other day–much to my happiness. They were a delight to me, as I’m sure they will be to you. Think a female-fronted Lucksmiths that wouldn’t be out of place on Matinee.

There’s an interesting question at work here. That question is ‘where do you feel music?’ Sure your ears do most of the work, but where does it resonate within you? With The Snow Fairies, it seemed like most of my response was coming from my heart. Upon hearing “Baja California” and “The Life of a Total Square,” it felt like my entire body was crying out for springtime. After all, how unfair is it to have such beautiful, joyous music, but not be able to go for a walk in the sun? For the time being, it looks like I’m going to have to keep these songs within my heart, with the knowledge that I’ll be able to let them loose soon. Pop music like this is too good to be contained for long.
One of my friends just showed me the Infinite Cat Project. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me laugh.
