New Page France: “Talking Outlouds”
March 4th, 2006 by Matt
As I’m sure you’re all already aware, I booked Page France for a show at The Dame tomorrow, Sunday the 5th. In an attempt to get as many people to the show as I can, here’s a new song from a band that I believe is one of the best out there.
MP3: Page France – Talking Out-Louds
When Michael told me earlier this year that Page France’s new EP would sound a bit like Margo Guryan, I was scared. After all, it’s a bit of a jump for them. But this track has laid all my fears to rest. “Talking Outlouds” maintains Page France’s signature pop feel, but also expands into new areas. Obviously the major edition is the presence of the Rhodes, which fits their sound more than you might imagine. Also, I’m impressed at how they constantly update their style as well. There’s a nice pre-chorus bit in this song that has me excited to hear the rest of Pear. If this is an indication of a new direction for them, I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
(note: this is a Myspace rip and thus is not high quality. I should be getting a copy of Pear later today and will replace this mp3 with a better quality one. If you’re not an audiophile (I’m not), ignore this message)

The new site looks really nice, the colour of the links after they’re clicked is a bit weird though.
