New Parlour Boys Song: “Lovers”

January 7th, 2006 by Matt

I’ve been wanting to post about Lexington natives, Parlour Boys, for months now. Unfortunately until recently they didn’t have any mp3s available. But now they’ve put a new song on their myspace profile. This one’s for fans of dance-punk and Kentucky.

MP3: Parlour Boys – Lovers
Rumor has it that this track is getting some good airplay in the offices of a major record label. Rumor also has it that no one will believe they’re from Kentucky. What’s up America? We deliver VHS or Beta to your doorstep and you think it’s a fluke? This song might not be quite up to the !!! or VHSoB level, but it’s a step in the right direction. It’s got a great chorus and the outro is top-notch as well. If you get a chance to see them live, you’ll probably be humming this one for days afterwards.

I missed this Thursday because I was still in ‘I’m seeing Page France tomorrow’ mode (they were great, btw. I got video and will be uploading it), but So Much Silence has The Rosebuds live mp3s.

Dodge posted about The Duke Spirit, and I’m pretty sure I need to listen to these guys.

Rock Snob is on vacation. Feel free to surprise her with a comment while she’s gone!
