So can we all just come together as a people, and admit once and for all that the Futureheads are better than Franz Ferdinand? They out-rock, out-sing and out-snazzy FF in nearly every song. The only thing they don’t have going for them is a huge PR blitz and magazine covers (maybe they do in the UK, but not here).

“Area” might not grab your attention like “Decent Days and Nights” or “First Day” did, but don’t write it off just yet. It’s got enough ‘do do do’s to get stuck in your head for days on end. Not only that, but I think…just maybe…they might have some meaningful lyrics in this one. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they’ve grown up. Thank goodness they didn’t forget how to make us dance.

NOTE: I’m feeling kinda ‘bleh’ about love right now (which is uncharacteristic). If any of you have epic, beautiful songs like Jeff Buckley’s version of “Hallelujah” or Low’s “(That’s How You Sing) Amazing Grace,” then I would love to hear about them.
