What’s the matter, hipster? Polyphonic Spree not happy enough? Architecture in Helsinki not quite capture that child-like innosense you’re looking for? Well, you can thank Dean from The Secret Unicorns Forum for bringing The Triangles to my attention.
As is the trend with most bands that make me feel all gooey inside, The Triangles hail […]

October 26th, 2005 · 13 Comments
When I was on the speech team in high school, my coach was all about the peaks and valleys. It was important to have the build up and release of emotion in the course of your selection, or else it wasn’t even worth performing. Similarly, each song by Phoenix and the Turtle will often […]

The Blue Van
October 25th, 2005 · 11 Comments
After having an Almost Famous-esque evening with Locksley, I had one fact beaten into me: The Blue Van are the greatest band on earth.

Panda and Angel

When you think of the word ‘dangerous,’ pandas and angels aren’t usually the first things that spring to mind. However, “Dangerous” by Panda and Angel is one of the few non-terrible songs that I’ve been sent lately. Sure the lyrics are lacking, but the instrumentation is pretty well arranged.
