Voodoo Music Fest and My iPod

Apparently some of my friends are thinking of planning a trip to Voodoo over Halloween Weekend. The lineup is nothing short of amazing. Flaming Lips, Decemberists, DFA1979, Foo Fighters, NIN, and tons other great ones? Sounds too good to be true (plus this would knock Flaming Lips off the “Band I Have to See Before I Die” list). And unless I’m reading the site wrong, it looks like $60 gets you a pass for the whole weekend. So should we do it? Are any of you all going?
So yeah, my iPod finally came in today. Big props to the folks at Apple for being amazingly fast about it. To celebrate, here’s a song from Page France’s new album, Hello, Dear Wind, which I received in the mail today. It’s stellar and I hope you all like it.

pse: Sufjan was apparently on MTV’s You Hear It First. I haven’t seen it yet, but apparently it was funny, but awkward. Any of you catch it?

Hazaa for your iPod – If the lineup is nothing short of amazing then I don’t see why not. ACL’s one day pass alone is like a good $70, and thats just one day (O_o)I still have to get mine…

the sufjan thing was weird. he was just chilling in his studio or something which mtv juxtaposed with live shots of him playing while overlaying the song lyrics as he sang them. i don’t remember too many specifics of what they talked about, but it wasn’t really worth it

Yea ipod! i would really like to make it to voodoo. I don’t think I will though – wife and i need to be home for the daughter for halloween its guilt from stashing her with her grandparents duringthe 4th of july. i have a friend in dallas who is really pushing me to go to voodoo though. it looks as if ACL will be our big fall music trip.

Have you seen Sufjan and his travelling Illinoisemakers? They wear nice pants, but other than that, they could use some money. I mean, they put pickups in their acoustic guitars to make them electric, or they did at the show I went to, and the I shirts are painted. They didn’t order them, they were painted, as far as I can tell. Sufjan could use the money, man.
